On the night of May 26, the Russians launched a total of 17 missiles of various types and 31 kamikaze drones on Ukrainian territory. Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed 10 cruise missiles, 23 "Shahed" drones, and two reconnaissance UAVs.
This information was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The latest night attack by Russian occupiers began at the end of the previous day, May 25, at 22:00 and lasted until 5:00 on May 26. This time, the enemy shifted the direction of the attack to the East, targeting critical infrastructure objects and Ukrainian defense facilities”, the statement said.
In total, launches of 17 Russian missiles of various types and 31 combat drones were recorded:
- 10 cruise missiles X-101/X-555 from Tu-95 MS aircraft from the Caspian Sea region;
- 7 guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300/S-400 from the Tokmak area (temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhia region);
- 31 Iranian-made “Shahed-136/131” combat UAVs from the southern and northern directions. It is reported that with the efforts and capabilities of the Air Force in cooperation with other components of the Ukrainian defense forces in the areas of responsibility of the air commands “East,” “Center,” and “South,” the following were destroyed:
- 10 air-launched cruise missiles X-101/X-555;
- 23 “Shahed-136/131” combat drones;
- 2 operational-tactical level UAVs “Orlan-10,” “Merlin-VR.”
