Based on the materials provided by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the current member of the Ukrainian parliament from the banned pro-Russian party (OPZZH) has been accused of state treason.
The SSU reportedthis incident.
The Security Service and the State Bureau of Investigation exposed the cooperation between the active member of the Ukrainian parliament and the Russian Federation. The suspect has been charged under Article 111, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason).
It was revealed that during the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation, this deputy voluntarily cooperated with the aggressor while being present in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia. Specifically, the suspect re-registered enterprises under Russian legislation opened accounts in local “branches” of Russian banks, and organized the production of material goods, which were later handed over to the Russian occupying forces.
According to available information, the suspect’s factories supplied fuel and lubricants for Russian military equipment and provided machinery for the construction of enemy fortifications.
Furthermore, even after the deputy traveled to Kyiv, he continued to coordinate the enterprises that assisted the enemy in the war against Ukraine. During urgent investigative actions, law enforcement officers discovered and confiscated electronic storage devices containing evidence of the deputy’s activities in favor of Russia.
The issue of applying preventive measures to the suspect is currently being addressed. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
According to unofficial sources, the individual under suspicion is parliament member Alexandr Ponomarev. He could face up to 15 years in prison.
