Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has repaired 14,500 km of power lines, numerous substations, and electrical equipment that were damaged by Russian shelling.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal announced this during a government meeting.
“The next priority for rapid restoration is the energy sector. We continue the campaign to rebuild it. Since the beginning of the year, we have repaired 14,500 km of power lines, numerous substations, and electrical equipment. We provide reinforced protection for energy facilities”, he said.
The Prime Minister noted that the national company “Ukrenergo” has completed about 60% of the planned restoration works for the networks.
“We are moving clearly within the schedule. As a result, we plan to add 1.7 GW of capacity to the energy system. Such a task has been set by the Ministry of Energy”, Shmyhal added.
As previously reported by the Prime Minister, Ukraine has already filled its gas storage facilities with 80% of the required amount of blue fuel. In addition, there are already 1.5 million tons of coal in state reserves.
