The "Drone Army" project has deployed 1,700 UAVs to support the Ukrainian counteroffensive. Among them are "birds" equipped with artificial intelligence to efficiently identify and neutralize targets.
This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
He stated that all drones were procured under the “Drone Army” project, which has evolved over the year into a large state program aimed at developing Ukrainian UAV production.
Fedorov noted that within the project, 40 types of domestic drones have already been approved for operation and have received government contracts. Just a year ago, there were only seven such drones.
At the same time, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the government has allocated 40 billion hryvnias for the production of Ukrainian drones this year.
It’s worth mentioning that at the International Defence Industry Fair in Istanbul, a model of the new Ukrainian maritime drone, MAGURA V5, was showcased.
The Maritime Autonomous Guard Unmanned Robotic Apparatus (MAGURA) V-type is a multi-purpose unmanned surface vessel of a new generation developed in Ukraine. It can perform various operations such as observation, reconnaissance, patrolling, search and rescue, mine countermeasures, protection of the naval fleet, and combat missions.
