During the night, a Russian reconnaissance and sabotage group attempted to cross the northern border. The decision was made by the senior surveillance post to open fire on the enemy.
This was reported by Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev.
“Last night, on the Northern front, within the Chernihiv region, an attempt to cross the state border of Ukraine by an enemy reconnaissance and sabotage group was thwarted”, he said.
Border guards from the 2nd outpost spotted four armed individuals using thermal imaging devices.
According to the general, reserves from the border unit and the Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately responded to the alarm signal and arrived at the scene.
Thanks to the actions of the Defense Forces units, the enemy suffered losses and failed to achieve its goal.
