During the night of September 4th, Russian occupiers launched an attack on Odessa region using Shahed-type combat drones, with Ukrainian air defense forces successfully downing 17 of them.
There were impacts in two territorial communities. This information is reported by the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper.
“Russian terrorists attacked the southern region of the Odessa region with combat drones for 3.5 hours. Our air defense forces managed to shoot down 17 drones”, he reported.
As a result of the Russian attack, there were casualties. Several settlements in the Izmail district suffered damage to warehouses, industrial buildings, agricultural equipment, and industrial equipment.
According to the head of the Regional State Administration, several fires broke out on the premises of civilian facilities due to debris from the downed drones, but they were successfully extinguished. Fortunately, there were no fatalities or injuries.
As known, on the night of September 3rd, Ukrainian border guards shot down two kamikaze drones in the Odessa region. Russian occupiers had directed these drones towards one of the ports in the Danube region of the Odessa region.
