Polish President Andrzej Duda has confirmed a meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. The meeting will take place in New York.

This was announced by Duda’s office on Twitter.

“In a few days in New York, I will have a meeting with the President of Ukraine. Among other things, we will discuss grain. Ukraine needs to understand our position – my task is to take care of our Polish interests”, the statement reads.

Earlier, in a comment to the Polish news agency PAP, Duda stated that Warsaw would defend its interests regarding the import and sale of grain.

“The fact that it is being sold in Poland is absolutely not in our interests, it is not in the interests of our farmers. We must protect our market, and we will do so, trying to help Ukraine”, he said.

It is worth noting that Poland recently extended the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products beyond September 15.
