As of the morning of December 20, there are 3,600 trucks waiting in line at the Ukrainian-Polish border crossing on all four directions, with the longest queues at the "Shehyni" and "Yahodyn" checkpoints.

This information was provided by Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during an interview with KYIV24.

“There are kilometer-long queues that stretch into the territory of Poland. As of this morning, on all four directions, there are 3,600 freight vehicles. The largest queues are opposite the “Shehyni” and “Yahodyn” checkpoints,” he stated.

Demchenko also commented on the cases of deaths at the Ukrainian-Polish border. He noted that due to repeated blockades by Polish carriers at the border crossing points, people are waiting for the crossing for weeks.

“Because of this, there may be health problems leading to death. Ukrainian diplomatic institutions have already confirmed at least three deaths of Ukrainian citizens who were in queues. They practically lost their lives because the conditions of stay do not add strength or health,” added Demchenko.

The organizers of the blockade in Poland, the recently created “Committee for the Protection of Carriers and Employers in the Transport Industry,” claim that the action is economic and not political. But that is not true. However, their actions have not found support among the authorities and other organizations of carriers. Nevertheless, the protest is being actively supported by the consistent anti-Ukrainian and anti-European party “Konfederacja,” whose representatives are the most vocal in expressing anti-Ukrainian statements, fighting against Ukrainian refugees in the media, and already billing for assistance to Ukraine and its citizens.
