Tonight, Russian forces launched several "Shakhed" groups on Ukrainian territory.
Ukrainian military destroyed at least 10 enemy attack drones, according to Natalia Humenyuk, the head of the unified press center of the Southern Defense Forces, speaking on the “Unified News” telethon.
“Combat operations were underway in the south. We observed two waves of attacks. The first lasted for three hours. After two hours, a new wave began. Combat operations and interceptions continue”, she said.
Humenyuk noted that the defense forces’ work on “Shakheds” was effective. Air defense forces managed to destroy at least 10 attack drones, four in the Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and one each in Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported that six “Shakheds” were successfully shot down over the region. The debris from the downed drones fell onto the territory of a non-working enterprise, with no casualties reported.
“The enemy thrice shelled the district center, Marganets, and Chervonohryhorivska community with heavy artillery. In total, more than ten shells were fired. There were no casualties or injuries”, he added.
The General Staff reports that overall, on January 4, the enemy carried out seven missile and 36 aviation strikes, shelled the positions of our troops and civilian objects in our state 37 times with reactive salvo fire systems. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
