Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, has urged not to make premature conclusions about the crash of the Russian military transport plane Il-76, which, according to the statement of the Russian Ministry of Defense, allegedly carried Ukrainian prisoners of war for exchange.

He emphasized that the information war is as crucial as the battle on the front, urging media representatives and Ukrainian citizens to trust only official sources and not spread unreliable information. Lubinets stressed the need not to fall for provocations and assured that detailed information would be provided later.

According to Russian Telegram channels, the Il-76 plane crashed in the Belgorod region. Russian propaganda media reported that there were 63 people on board, all of whom died.

Sources in the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that this plane was transporting missiles for the S-300 air defense system. These missiles are used for mass shelling in the Kharkiv region and other border areas of Ukraine.

The Air Force has not yet commented on the information about the Il-76 crash but promises to provide it later.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that there were “65 Ukrainian military prisoners” on the plane, along with six crew members and three escorts.
