Russia is preparing an informational attack against Ukraine under the codename "Maidan-3," with a budget of $1.5 billion. This is the most expensive operation by Russian special services in history, according to intelligence reports.
Alona Romaniuk, the chief editor of the fact-checking project “NotaYenota,” shared expectations regarding this informational campaign on KYIV24.
The overall budget for the operation amounted to an astronomical $1.5 billion, making it the most expensive action by Russian special services in history.
While Romaniuk does not have specific data, she speculated about the potential elements of this campaign, which may include a series of video clips, documentaries for both Russian and foreign television, bots, Telegram channels spreading disinformation, cartoons, advertising campaigns targeting various audience segments, and a network of experts disseminating Russia’s desired messages.
Romaniuk expressed hope that a significant portion of these funds would be embezzled, as often happens in Russia, and not reach the intended recipients.
The goal of “Maidan-3” is to diminish Ukraine’s support on the international stage and destabilize the situation within the country. Russian special services plan to employ various methods, including fake news, propaganda, hostile language, and cyberattacks.
It is essential to remain vigilant and not trust information from unverified sources. Fact-checking before sharing information with others is crucial.
