Estonia has announced a new package of military aid for Ukraine in the amount of 20 million euros.
This was reported in a statement by the Estonian Ministry of Defense.
The new package will include, among other things, artillery ammunition, anti-tank guns, explosives, gas masks, sniper equipment, and small-caliber ammunition.
“We have put together this package, focusing on ensuring maximum benefit for Ukraine, while ensuring that it does not reduce Estonia’s defense readiness”, said Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.
The aid package includes 155mm caliber projectiles, which is Estonia’s additional contribution to the European Union initiative to send one million projectiles to Ukraine. Denmark will partially finance Estonia’s contribution. The exact quantity of ammunition is not disclosed for security reasons.
The head of the Estonian Ministry of Defense added that as summer approaches, Ukraine needs primarily ammunition, all elements of air defense, as well as spare parts and electronic warfare equipment.
Recall that in early February, Estonia provided Ukraine with a new package of military aid worth 80 million euros, which includes Javelin anti-tank missiles, machine guns, ammunition for small arms, various equipment, and diving gear.
