Kyiv residents came to play with the 11-year-old Kyiv and world champion Valeria Yezhova, who has been raising funds for the help to our military for several months.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
The message noted that an open volunteer checkers tournament was held in Obolonskyi VcentriHUB.
“In general, such a meeting carries several important missions at once. First of all, we continue to support our military and bring this issue to the fore with enthusiasm. And it is important that we involve the younger generation in this process, who should also understand the importance of helping the army. Secondly, we promote the development of sports by popularizing the intellectual game of checkers. We plan to carry out such events systematically based on other VcentriHUBs, also supporting the Kyiv Chess Federation”, Roman Lelyuk, director of the Department of Public Communications of the Kyiv City State Administration said.
The young volunteer played with seven opponents at the same time. In two hours of the volunteer tournament, the account for the support of the Ukrainian army was replenished by seven thousand hryvnias. In general, thanks to her skills, Valeria Yezhova has already raised 91,500 hryvnias for the Armed Forces.
