Currently, Russia possesses a minimum of 585 missiles (excluding the X-22) that can travel distances exceeding 500 kilometers. These missiles are most often used to target Ukraine.
This was reported by Major General Vadym Skybytskyi, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
“If we talk about ballistic and cruise missiles like ‘Iskander,’ according to our data, they have around 270 units. The ‘Kalibr’ stockpile is approximately 140 missiles. The X-101 is less numerous, yet the total number of X-101, X-555, and X-55 with warheads, according to our estimates, is around 100 missiles”, he stated.
Vadym Skybytskyi added that the usage of X-101 by the Russians is lower compared to the fall of the previous year.
“The Russians can produce about 40 X-101 missiles per month, but we are well aware that these plans are not being met. Primarily, this is due to a shortage of foreign components. The second factor is that Russia is trying to accumulate reserves of these missiles, which are considered more accurate and effective when compared to, for instance, the X-555, X-22 cruise missiles, or even the ‘Kalibr’ missiles that we successfully intercept”, Skybytskyi added.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia has used over 6,500 missiles and over 3,500 strike drones against Ukraine.
