As a result of the flooding caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant dam on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government, the death of 10 people has been confirmed: 8 in the Kherson region and 2 in the Mykolaiv region.
These are the data provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
In the Kherson region, 42 individuals, including 7 children, are still considered missing. 46 settlements have been flooded, including 14 in the temporarily occupied territory. 2,743 people have been evacuated, including 205 children and 76 elderly or disabled individuals.
In the Mykolaiv region, 31 settlements have been flooded. 982 people have been evacuated, including 167 children.
It is worth reminding that experts have observed the salinization of freshwater in the Odessa region due to the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant by Russian forces.
