During the night of December 27, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type combat drones.
This information was reported by the Southern Defense Forces.
The attacks, consisting of two waves with a 15-minute interval, lasted for 7 hours of intense combat activity.
According to the announcement, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 17 kamikaze drones: 12 in the Odesa region, 3 in the Mykolaiv region, and 2 in the Vinnytsia region.
The enemy concentrated its strike on Kherson, where a shopping center and residential buildings were damaged. Also, impacts occurred in the warehouse premises of an agricultural research institution. Information about the casualties is being clarified.
The Defense Forces reported that in the Odessa region, the enemy focused on attacking the regional center. Air defense forces targeted and neutralized all enemy objectives. Debris from downed drones fell onto one of the uninhabited newly built areas. Additionally, a drone shot down in the air crashed into summer houses in the suburbs of Odessa, causing a fire that has already been extinguished. As a result of the attack, there is one fatality and three injured, including a 17-year-old teenager.
