In the regions of Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa, using and consuming water from the Dnipro River and other reservoirs is hazardous.

The Ministry of Health has issued a warning.

“Use water only from safe sources. We urge you to refrain from consuming and using untreated water from the Dnipro River and other reservoirs in the areas most affected by the Russian act of terrorism at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station. Primarily, this refers to the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa regions”, the statement emphasizes.

The Ministry of Health highlights that this is due to the flooding of fields, sewage facilities, cemeteries, and households, resulting in a high level of contamination in the water.

“For instance, significant microbial indicators have already been detected in surface water bodies. Therefore, such water should not be used under any circumstances, as it can lead to acute gastrointestinal infections”, the Ministry of Health reports.

The department requests avoiding the following activities: swimming in water bodies, drawing water for consumption and household needs, watering animals, and fishing.

Earlier, we reported that the International Criminal Court has begun investigating the explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this, assuring that Ukraine is already and will continue to support the most independent and objective investigation by the International Criminal Court.
