The massive missile attack by the Russians has caused damage to the infrastructure of 'Ukrenergo' and regional energy distribution companies ('oblenergo') in Kyiv and the surrounding area.
This information was announced by the company’s press service.
Currently, more than 250,000 consumers are without electricity. The statement from the company reads, ‘All power outages are related to military actions, and there are no plans for scheduled shutdowns.’
Recovery work will commence immediately after assessing the extent of damage by repair crews from ‘Ukrenergo’ and ‘oblenergo.’
The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine added that due to the widespread missile shelling in Kyiv, an overhead power line was damaged, leading to power loss at several substations.
In Kyiv region, high-voltage lines have been disrupted due to shelling, resulting in power outages in the Buchansky and Vyshhorod districts. Equipment at a substation has also been affected.
Additionally, there were temporary disruptions in the operation of hydroelectric power stations”.
Recall that on January 2, the alarm lasted for nearly 6 hours. Initially, the enemy launched about a dozen barrage-type ‘Shahed’ projectiles at Kyiv, followed by more than a dozen Tu-95MS strategic bombers launching waves of cruise missiles X-101/X555X-55. Simultaneously with the missile attack on Kyiv, over ten MiG-31K aircraft launched aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 ‘Kinjal’ at the capital. Air defense forces successfully intercepted all ‘Shahed’ UAVs and over 60 missiles X-101/X555X-55, as well as a dozen X-47M2 ‘Kinjal’ missiles.
