On the night of March 29, the Russians launched several dozen "Shahed" drones and missiles at Ukraine, utilizing a combined style of attack to target the country's energy infrastructure.
This information was reported by the commander of the Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk.
During the night of March 29, 2024, the enemy delivered a powerful missile-air strike on the fuel and energy sector objects of Ukraine, using various types of missiles and strike UAVs.
In total, on March 29, the Russians used 99 means of aerial attack:
- 60 “Shahed-136/131” strike UAVs (from the launch areas of Primorsk-Akhtarsk, Kursk region, Russia);
- 3 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 “Kinjal” (from three MiG-31K interceptors – Ryazan region, Russia);
- 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (TOT Crimea);
- 9 Kh-59 guided aviation missiles (from nine Su-34 aircraft – Belgorod region);
- 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles (Kursk region, Russia);
- 21 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles (from eleven Tu-95MS strategic bombers – Engels, Russia).
As a result of the air battle, 84 aerial targets were destroyed: 26 missiles and 58 drones.
The RF attack on Ukraine on March 29 Around half-past midnight, it became known about the activity of Tu-95MS aircraft from the Olenya airfield. For a massive attack, they used Kh-101/555, “Kinjal”, “Iskander-M”/”KN-23”, “S-300″/”S-400”, X-59 missiles, and Shahed drones.
In Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Khmelnytskyi regions, there were reports of air defense systems operating. In particular, there were reports of “Kinjal” attacks on Stryi in Lviv region.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, the Russians attacked a number of critical infrastructure objects. In the Kamianske district of Dnipropetrovsk region, a man was hospitalized in critical condition. Air defense forces managed to destroy about 24 Russian aerial targets over the region.
It is noted that emergency power outages are currently in effect in Dnipropetrovsk region. At the same time, hourly power cuts have been introduced in Kharkiv region.
In Kyiv region, reports of debris falling were received, but there were no casualties.
Over Cherkasy region, there were reports of several drones being shot down.
