Due to intensified shelling from the Russian side, the leadership of Sumy region has declared the evacuation of people from the border villages of Okhtyrka District.

“The enemy has significantly increased the firepower on the territory of certain border communities in Okhtyrka District. Measures are being taken to ensure the safety of residents in these communities, including the transportation of those wishing to safe places. Transportation means have been provided for these communities”, the statement said.
The Regional Military Administration emphasized that the situation in the region is under control and urged residents to remain calm and rely only on official sources of information. As reported earlier, approximately 106,000 Ukrainians have already left their homes as part of the evacuation from dangerous areas. Evacuation from the areas deoccupied since last autumn is also ongoing. Within this framework, nearly 25,000 people have left Kharkiv region in the past 7 months. Over the past 5 months, more than 21,000 citizens have been evacuated from recently liberated territories in Kherson region.
