The France 24 television channel, funded by the French state, aired a segment filmed in a Russian military camp where occupation troops are being trained, and referred to the Ukrainian side as hostile.
The segment was posted on the channel’s website on April 13.
“About 30 kilometers from the front line, in a secret location, Russian troops are preparing for battle. Most of the soldiers here are not professionals, they are conscripts from Siberia. They have already visited the front and are now preparing to return”, the material says.
French journalists do not mention that Russian military forces are engaged in illegal aggression against Ukraine.
The segment also contains elements of Russian propaganda. For example, Russian military personnel boast that their weapons are superior to Western ones, including Leopard tanks. One of the heroes of the segment also says that he “defends the history” of his country with dignity. One of the Russian military personnel can be seen wearing a cap with the symbol of aggression “Z” and symbols of the Soviet Union.
Another Russian soldier said he was not afraid of a counterattack by Ukrainian troops, which the journalist referred to as “hostile.”
