Germany plans to double its military assistance to Ukraine in 2024 to 8 billion euros.
This was announced by the German Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, on ARD.
‘This is a strong signal to Ukraine, showing that we do not give up’, he said.
According to him, Germany is guided in this case by the experience of 2023, which showed that the planned amounts were quickly exhausted. As a result of the planned increase in aid to Ukraine, defense spending in Germany will amount to 2.1% of GDP.
It is worth noting that Germany provided 700,000 euros under the ReACT4UA/EU4Business program for grants to Ukrainian telecom companies to restore in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine.
