Kyiv authorities have begun implementing proposals within the framework of the process of de-Russification of the capital's toponyms.

This was announced by a member of the Names Commission, Timish Martynenko-Kushlyanskyi.

According to him, the first package of proposals, within the framework of which nearly 100 streets will be renamed, has already been considered.

Instead of Marshal Malinovsky Street, there will be Heroes of the Azov Regiment, Kemerovska will become Hetman Danylo Apostol, and Tula Square will become Heroes of the UPA.

Other renamings:

  • Marshal Konev — Samiyla Kishka street,
  • Marshal Yakubovsky – Heroes of Mariupol,
  • Rossoshanska — Ataman Zelenyi,
  • Volodymyr Mayakovsky Avenue — Chervona Kalyna,
  • General Zhmachenko — Prince Roman Mstislavych street,
  • Taganrog – Prince Lubart,
  • Lobachevsky — Princess Ingigerda,
  • Tverskiy cul-de-sac — Kryposny,
  • Tsimlyanskyi Lane — Romskyi,
  • Osypovskogo — Baida-Vyshnevetskogo street,
  • Chervonopolska — Pryemyshelska,
  • Moskvoretska — Zbrutska,
  • Academician Kablukov — Vitaly Skakun,
  • Savrasova — Kostopavlivska,
  • Smolenska — the Brodsky family,
  • Michurin – Morskykh Pikhotyntsiv,
  • Piterska — Londonska,
  • Povzunova — Sicheslavska,

“The full list of today’s decisions will be later. There will be more, but in stages,” Martynenko-Kushlyanskyi added.
