The members of the IAEA mission, who are to visit the Zaporizhia NPP which has been occupied by the russian forces, have already arrived in Kyiv.
This is reported by CNN.
Members of the International Atomic Energy Agency delegation were seen by CNN reporters at a hotel in the Ukrainian capital on the morning of August 30.
“A group of 14 United Nations nuclear monitoring experts arrived in Kyiv on the eve of this week’s planned visit to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine,” the report said.
The mission is headed by the head of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi.
CNN notes that the visit will take place against the background of shelling of the nuclear power plant and growing fears of a possible nuclear accident.
On August 29, it became known that the IAEA mission went to the Zaporizhzhia NPP. This happened after August 25, the captured nuclear power plant in Energodar was disconnected from electricity for the first time in history.
