In Kyiv, bike lanes will be separated from the car parking area by plastic curbs

Starting from autumn, in Ukraine, bike lanes located behind the car parking lane will be protected by curbs.

This is reported by the public organization “Kyiv – Bike City”.

The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine approved the corresponding change in the state building regulations “Streets and roads of populated areas”. The resolution will enter into force on September 1, 2022.

Such cubs are made of rubber or plastic and installed on the right side, which allows to protect bike lanes from parking cars.

Cubs were installed for the first time in Kyiv in 2021 on Reitarska, Zolotovoritska and Baseina streets.

The Public Organization “Kyiv – Bike City” has been dealing with the issue of separating bike lanes since 2010.
