In the occupied Luhansk region, agents of the Security Service of Ukraine detonated an explosion targeting the so-called “head of customs” of the “LNR”, Yuriy Afanasyevsky.

He is currently in intensive care. It is noted that Afanasyevsky was targeted in his own residence. He sustained multiple shrapnel wounds to the head, neck, and abdomen and is in critical condition in intensive care. Yuriy Afanasyevsky is a Major General, an agent of the central apparatus of the FSB, and a “financier” for the leader of the “LNR,” Leonid Pasechnik.

Afanasyevsky was involved in money laundering to finance armed groups fighting against Ukraine. He is subject to personal sanctions imposed by the EU, UK, Canada, Switzerland, and Japan. Until 2008, Yuriy Mykolayovych Afanasyevsky served as a judge in the Krasnodon District Court of Luhansk Region.

It is worth noting that at the end of August, Ukrainian partisans eliminated military patrols of occupiers in Luhansk.
