The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has confirmed the explosion of a railway bridge in the Samara region of the Russian Federation.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirms the fact of disabling the railway bridge over the Chapaevka River in the Samara region of Russia.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, on March 4, 2024, around 06:00, the bridge was damaged by the explosion of its structural elements.
It is noted that the railway branch was used by the aggressor state for transporting military cargoes, including engineering ammunition produced by the Polimer plant in the city of Chapaevsk, Samara region.
Due to the nature of the damage to the railway bridge, its use will be impossible for a long time.
It is worth noting that earlier, Russian telegram channels and other media outlets reported an explosion. According to Baza, unknown individuals attempted to blow up the support of the bridge over the Chapaevka River on the Zirka-Chapaevsk stretch. According to their sources, the metal structure of the bridge and barriers were damaged. The Russian state agency TASS writes that train traffic has been suspended.
Recall that in early February, members of the partisan movement carried out a sabotage operation on the railway in the Russian city of Volgograd. This temporarily halted the transfer of equipment by Russian occupiers.
