Russian drone operators are being trained at the Shayrat airbase in Syria for war against Ukraine. They are being taught to operate Iranian drones such as "Shahed-136" and "Ababil-3".

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informs that Russian operators of Iranian-made UAVs are being trained in Syria.

The announcement states that the training for Russians is being conducted by the “Hezbollah Lebanese police” and the “Iranian Revolutionary Guard.” Training takes place on the territory of the Syrian military airbase Shayrat.

It is noted that the Lebanese-Iranian-Russian training course involves mastering drones such as “Shahed-136” and “Ababil-3,” as well as the remotely piloted Raad aircraft.

The military training is led by one of Hezbollah’s commanders, Kamal Abu Sadiq, who specializes in manufacturing and servicing drones.

In addition, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Syrian mercenaries are undergoing training along with the occupiers, whom Moscow plans to involve in the war against Ukraine as UAV operators.

Recall that just last week, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine shared information that Russia is recruiting mercenaries in Syria to participate in hostilities against Ukraine.

Training is taking place on Syrian territory near the city of Aleppo and the “Kuweires” airbase. The first batch, about 1000 mercenaries, is undergoing training with a focus on conducting combat operations in urban areas, the Main Intelligence Directorate notes.
