An explosion occurred in the Black Sea on an enemy naval mine under the flag of Panama on a civilian ship. The bulk carrier was en route to load grain at one of the Danube ports. Two sailors were injured.

This information is reported by the Southern Defense Forces.

“As a result of the explosion, the ship lost propulsion and control, and a fire broke out on the upper deck. To prevent flooding, the captain grounded the ship”, the statement said.

Maritime security and search and rescue service boats immediately provided assistance to the crew. Medics were promptly brought on board. During the inspection of the ship and the captain’s questioning, two sailors with injuries were identified.

One of the sailors received assistance on the spot, while the second injured, accompanied by medics, was taken to the nearest hospital for further examination.

According to preliminary data, his condition is satisfactory.

Tugboats were sent to the ship to lift it off the shoal and transport it to the port.
