As of the morning of January 24, 2024, law enforcement agencies have managed to confirm the death of 521 children as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
More than 1732 children have suffered in Ukraine due to the full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. As of the morning of January 24, 2024, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 521 children have died, and over 1211 have been injured to varying degrees.
These figures are not final, as work is ongoing to establish them in areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied, and liberated territories.
The most affected regions with the highest number of children are:
- Donetsk region – 504 children;
- Kharkiv region – 325 children;
- Kherson region – 146 children;
- Kyiv region – 130 children;
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 111 children;
- Mykolaiv region – 101 children;
- Zaporizhia region – 100 children;
- Chernihiv region – 72 children;
- Luhansk region – 67 children.
During the day:
- On January 23, an 8-year-old girl died in Kharkiv due to a series of shelling by the enemy army. Nine children aged 3 to 17 were injured.
- On January 23, six children aged 14 to 17 were affected in Kyiv due to shelling by Russian forces.
