The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has confirmed the destruction of four military transport aircraft Il-76 during a nighttime attack on Pskov.
This information was provided by GUR representative Andriy Yusov in a comment to “Babel” news outlet.
“Accurate data about the destruction of four Il-76 aircraft and several units of damage are available. Currently, the information is being clarified”, he noted.
Meanwhile, Russia claims that the planes are only damaged but acknowledges the attack on the airport.
These aircraft are used by the occupiers for transporting servicemen, military equipment, and ammunition. The 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division of the Airborne Troops is stationed in the city of Pskov, utilizing Il-76 planes. According to media reports, the cost of a new Il-76 is estimated at 5 billion Russian rubles (approximately 1.9 billion Ukrainian hryvnias).
During the night of August 30, a series of explosions were reported near the airport in Russian Pskov.
