In the Polish city of Krakow, a solemn renaming of the area in the Old Town between Krovoderska Street and Biborski Square to "Free Ukraine" Square took place on Tuesday.

The Consulate General of Ukraine in Krakow –reported.

“Giving this place the name of Free Ukraine is our humble gesture in the face of the great strength and resilience of the Ukrainian nation” –

The head of the Krakow City Council, Rafal Komarewicz said.

The opening was attended by Consul General of Ukraine in Krakow Vyacheslav Voynarovsky, deputies of the Lviv City Council Ulyana Pak and Petro Adamyk, residents and guests of the city.

The decision to rename was made on April 13. This is another step in support of Ukraine and Ukrainians – they noted.

Krakow deputies unanimously adopted a resolution opposing the act of military aggression against Ukraine and expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian people. They also voted to finish Krakow’s cooperation with Moscow and St. Petersburg and urged Polish cities and municipalities to end cooperation with Russian cities.
