Lithuania will purchase 3,000 drones of its own production for Ukraine. The country will also allocate 35 million euros for the Czech initiative to purchase artillery ammunition.
This was announced in Vilnius by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, after a meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart, Ingrida Šimonytė.
“Lithuania will purchase three thousand Lithuanian drones for Ukraine, and will allocate 15 million euros for programs to rehabilitate wounded Ukrainian soldiers. This was agreed with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ingrida Šimonytė, during the visit to Vilnius”, he said.
According to the Prime Minister, the Lithuanian government will also allocate 15 million euros for programs to rehabilitate wounded Ukrainian soldiers. Additionally, 17 million euros will be directed towards assistance to veterans, rebuilding schools and kindergartens, and the construction of shelters.
The head of the Ukrainian government also noted that the country highly appreciates Lithuania’s readiness to participate in the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s peace plan and its support for Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
Shmyhal also thanked Lithuania for its clear position regarding the blockade of Russian and Belarusian agricultural exports to the EU, as well as for its leadership on the sanctions track.
