Today, May 25, the defense ministers of Russia and Belarus signed a document on the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.

This is reported by the Russian mass media.

As Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu noted, “in the future, additional measures may be taken to ensure the security of the Union State and respond to the military-political situation.”
It is known that Russia, placing non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, does not transfer them to the republic, and control over them and the decision to use them remains only with Moscow.

We will remind that at the end of March, Putin announced an agreement with Lukashenka on the placement of tactical nuclear weapons in the republic. According to dictator, the Iskander missile complex, which can be a carrier of tactical nuclear weapons, was transferred to Belarus.

At that time, Putin announced that crew training would begin on April 3, and the construction of a special storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of the republic would end on July 1.

US intelligence has previously said that Russia is unlikely to launch a nuclear strike, despite recent threats from the Kremlin and significant losses during the invasion of Ukraine.
