The head of the NATO Military Committee, Rob Bauer, arrived in Kyiv for a visit. He is the highest military leader of the North Atlantic Organization.

This was reported on the NATO website.

It is noted that Bauer has already spoken at the Kyiv Security Forum. He thanked for the opportunity to personally visit Ukraine and meet with Ukrainian political and military leadership.

“My visit – the first NATO military delegation to visit Ukraine after the large-scale invasion – is evidence that NATO and Ukraine are closer than ever”, he said.

He said that the visit allows him to express “deep respect” for the courage and strength of the Ukrainians, which they have demonstrated both on the battlefield and beyond.

“Together, we are doing everything to ensure that Ukraine becomes a member of our Alliance. The flag of Sweden will not be the only blue and yellow flag at NATO headquarters”, Bauer emphasized.

In his speech, he mentioned the missile attack on Kyiv, when the Russians struck the city with cruise and ballistic missiles, which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense systems. He also stated that there is currently no indication that Russia may use nuclear weapons. The admiral noted that NATO countries will have to increase the production of ammunition and missiles, as Russia does. He assured that there are financial resources for this.

“With our help, Ukraine can and will prevail. From the bottom of my heart, I say: you are not alone. You are not lonely. NATO supports you”, concluded the NATO representative.
