On September 28, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg arrived in the Ukrainian capital on an unannounced visit.

This was reported by Suspilne.

“It is a great honor for me to return to Kyiv, the capital of the great nation of Ukraine. Today, Kyiv holds a special place in the hearts of the free world. When I was last here in April, we discussed our preparations for the NATO Summit in Vilnius and your preparations for the counteroffensive. Today, your forces are advancing”, said the NATO Secretary-General.

During a press conference following his meeting with President Zelenskyy, he stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces, while facing tough battles, are gradually regaining ground. Stoltenberg noted a sharp contrast between Ukrainians and Russians: Ukrainians are fighting for their families, their future, and their freedom, while Moscow is pursuing imperial ambitions.

“Meanwhile, Russia is playing an increasingly smaller role on the world stage, cut off from international markets, not participating in international summits, and having to request weapons from regimes like Iran and North Korea”, he said.

It’s worth mentioning that on September 28, the newly appointed British Secretary of State for Defense, Grant Shapps, also arrived in Kyiv. He has already met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Additionally, on September 28, French Minister of Defense Sébastien Le Cornu arrived in Kyiv for a visit.
