New Gas Deposit Discovered in Ukraine, Estimated at Around 1 Billion Cubic Meters Ukrgazvydobuvannya has identified a new source of natural gas. Preliminary estimates indicate that the reserves of this new deposit amount to approximately 1 billion cubic meters.

This was announced by the press service of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

“The exploration of this area was essentially conducted ‘from scratch’. By increasing our reserves, we are creating prospects for sustainable gas production growth”, commented Oleg Tolmachev, Acting CEO of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

It is known that the well, drilled to a depth of 3,923 meters, was successfully established by Naftogaz, and significant gas extraction, exceeding 100,000 cubic meters, has already been obtained from it. Prior to drilling, 3D seismic surveys were conducted in the corresponding area, allowing the company’s experts to formulate a more accurate geological model of this deposit.

Ukraine aims to accumulate 14 billion cubic meters of gas before the start of the 2023/24 heating season.
