The satellite captured the appearance of new objects on the roof of the fourth energy block of the Zaporizhia NPP.

Russian service of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports that.

The objects were detected in photos taken on the morning of July 5 and published by Planet Labs.

It is noted that the resolution of the images does not allow for a clear understanding of what exactly appeared on the roof. However, it can be confidently stated that these objects were not present in any other satellite image of the fourth energy block in the past year and a half.

In addition, according to the General Staff, the roof of the third energy block is also believed to be mined.

It should be recalled that on June 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Russia’s plans to carry out a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhia NPP.

Military expert and co-chair of the civic initiative “Right Cause,” Dmytro Sniehyrov, explained how a possible provocation at the nuclear power plant might look. He noted that during the destruction of the Zaporizhia NPP by the Russians, they would try to simulate an external strike in order to blame Ukraine for the catastrophe.

On July 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially announced the possibility of an imminent provocation on the territory of the occupied Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant.

As of July 5, the level of cooling water in the stationary pond at the Zaporizhia NPP is within the normal range at 16.5 meters. This is sufficient to cool the fifth reactor.

According to nuclear energy expert Lyudvig Lytvynskyi, if the Zaporizhia NPP is destroyed, Ukraine could lose a quarter of its generating capacity.
