The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a bill to change the dates of public holidays.
This was announced by MP Zheleznyak.
From now on, Christmas will be celebrated on December 25th instead of January 7th. Also, instead of July 28th, the Day of Ukrainian Statehood will be celebrated on July 15th, but this year the holiday will be observed on the old date since the changes will take effect from July 28th.
Defender of Ukraine Day and the Day of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin will be celebrated on October 1st instead of October 14th.
Earlier, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine adopted a decision to switch to the new Julian calendar from September 1st, 2023.
