On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down a Russian Su-25 aircraft on October 29.
The State Border Guard Service’s press service reported this.
A team operating a portable anti-aircraft missile system from the border unit managed to down the enemy’s aircraft. After being hit, the attack aircraft emitted smoke, started losing altitude, and disappeared behind the horizon.
The Su-25, also known as the Frogfoot according to NATO classification, is an armored subsonic ground-attack aircraft designed for direct support of ground troops on the battlefield, both during daytime and nighttime, when the target is visually visible. It is also used for precision strikes on designated coordinates.
