Due to the destruction, the Orliatko Sanatorium in Vorzel and the Lisny Sanatorium in Irpin are unable to accomodate children today.
However, the Department of Health has done everything possible to ensure that, from June 1, the remaining specialized children’s institutions are prepared to provide rehabilitation services in 5 specializations.
Children with speech disorders, as well as psychoneurological, cardio-rheumatological, endocrinological, and oncological diseases, will be able to receive sanatorium treatment. To date, district sanatorium commissions have already provided free vouchers to more than 200 children. Of those, over 100 will be accompanied by a legal guardian.
According to official data alone, the occupiers have killed more than 240 children and injured over 440 in Ukraine since February 24. The invaders also forced more than 230,000 children from temporarily occupied territories to leave their homes.
Since the start of the latest invasion, 29 children have been injured in Kyiv. Sadly, 4 of them have died.
During this time, thanks to the work of Child and Family Services, city authorities have evacuated from Kyiv over 200 children from foster homes and Centers for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation. In addition to that, more than 1000 orphaned children have left Ukraine for European countries, accompanied by legal guardians.
