A previously thriving city, home to around 70,000 people before the war, has been reduced to complete ruins.
Lieutenant Roman Konon of the “Svoboda” battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine made this statement in an interview with KYIV24.
“It was a thriving city with a significant amount of diverse infrastructure. What the occupiers have done to it is indescribable. The city is devastated, it no longer exists, only the name remains. There is no infrastructure left, no residential buildings. Those who lived in this city and couldn’t leave in time were subjected to all sorts of mockery. The majority of the locals had to leave forever and became displaced people”, he said.
It is worth reminding that the occupiers are trying to redirect a large number of soldiers to the Bakhmut direction and are conducting artillery and engineering exercises.
Also, in the KYIV24 interview, the head of the “Terra” unit, Mykola Volokhov, mentioned that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive actions on the southern flank of Bakhmut, and overall, they are successful. Additionally, on the Bakhmut direction, they managed to stop the enemy’s tank breakthrough and destroy enemy equipment.
Furthermore, military expert Petro Chernik, in an interview with KYIV24, stated that the enemy has turned Bakhmut into ruins, where there is nothing left to cling to.
