The office of Polish President Andrzej Duda has supported the idea of Vladimir Zelensky to meet the governments of Ukraine and Poland. However, they propose a meeting in a different location.

This was stated by the State Secretary of the Office of the President of Poland, Andrzej Dera, in an interview with TVN24.

According to the State Secretary, Polish leader Andrzej Duda supports the idea of a meeting between the governments of the countries and “does everything in this spirit to help Ukraine”.

It is noted that it is important to hold a meeting between the Ukrainian government and the Polish one led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk “and most importantly — with representatives of the EU”.

However, Andrzej Dera emphasized that the Ukrainian-Polish border is not the safest place for negotiations and a better location can be chosen.

“It is better to talk in Warsaw or somewhere in Rzeszów, Lublin, and not necessarily on the border. Of course, these will not be long discussions, because they cannot take place there. It’s about symbolism. The idea is to clear the border”, he said.

The State Secretary believes that the entire conflict stems from the fact that agricultural production standards in Ukraine and the EU are “completely different”.

“Hence the different price of this product in Ukraine, hence Polish farmers today are struggling for survival and their means of existence”, he explained.

Recall that the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, called the border blockade “a certain conflict of interests” and shifted responsibility to the Russian Federation: “What is happening on the border now is a certain conflict between Polish farmers who are afraid for their existence and producers of agricultural products in Ukraine. This problem started due to Russian aggression against Ukraine”, said the President of Poland.

Also, Volodymyr Zelensky’s press secretary, Serhiy Nikiforov, stated during a telethon that the teams are already working on preparing for the meeting.
