Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed a significant number of Russian military personnel involved in the conflict in Ukraine, stating the participation of 617 thousand soldiers.

This unexpected admission came during Putin’s press conference on December 14.

According to him, the front line, stretching over 2 thousand kilometers, involves 617 thousand Russian soldiers.

This information aligns with Putin’s previous statements regarding the involvement of 300 thousand mobilized and 486 thousand “volunteers” in the conflict, emphasizing the scale of the Russian military presence in Ukraine.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the invasion, Russia has lost over 340 thousand soldiers in the war in Ukraine.
