As a result of a hostile attack on the ports along the Danube coast, 40 thousand tons of grain were destroyed. These are the same ports that stored grain for countries in Africa, China, and Israel.
This was reported by the Minister of Infrastructure, Alexander Kubrakov.
He showed the ruined infrastructure of the ports on the Danube coast, stating that the port of Izmail suffered the most significant damage. In this port, the marine station and infrastructure of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company, a key Ukrainian cargo carrier on the Danube, were damaged.
“Ukrainian grain is indispensable for the world and cannot be replaced by any other country in the near future. That’s why any disruption in the logistics chains causes shortages and a price spike, affecting everyone in the world”, said Kubrakov.
It should be noted that wheat prices on the Chicago Exchange jumped by 6.5% after the Russian attack on the port of Izmail on the night of August 2. Russia’s attack on Izmail means that the Kremlin is increasing the use of force to restore the maritime export blockade of Ukraine.
