Russia has lost a military transport plane, the Il-76, which crashed in the Belgorod region.
The information was confirmed by the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
“An incident occurred in the Korochansky district. Currently, an investigative-operational group and emergency services are working at the scene. I have adjusted my work schedule and headed to the district. All details will be provided later”, stated Gladkov.
According to preliminary information from media and sources, the plane was shot down by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Videos from the scene of the military transport plane crash are already circulating on the internet.
Il-76 aircraft are actively used in the Russian-Ukrainian war. On August 30, 2023, as a result of a Ukrainian drone attack, four military transport planes were destroyed, and several others were damaged at the Pskov airfield.
