The Ukrainian Armed Forces refute this claim. The Patriot air defense system is intact and undamaged, as evidenced by the intercepted Iskander ballistic missiles that Russia used to attack the Kyiv region on May 29 during the day.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Air Force, Yuri Ignat.
“Yesterday, the Patriot system was operational, and all Iskander-type targets flying ballistically were destroyed. There was a sudden unexpected attack yesterday, as the enemy attempted to catch us off guard after a night attack on the Kyiv region using Shahed and cruise missiles such as Kh-101 and Kh-555”, said Ignat.
The officer also assured that the air defense forces remain in a state of constant readiness, as the Russians are cunning and ruthless. A new strike could occur at any moment.
When asked specifically if the Patriot system is intact, the spokesperson for the Air Force confirmed, “Of course, it is intact. We destroyed all the missiles”.
Earlier, we reported that the Russians have already carried out the seventeenth attack on the Ukrainian capital in May, using kamikaze drones and missiles. The Kyiv City State Administration also emphasized that it was the third enemy attack within 24 hours. During the latest attack, which took place on the night of May 30, Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed 20 enemy targets in the airspace of Kyiv.
