Ukraine has requested Russia to hand over the bodies of those allegedly killed in the Il-76 plane crash. Russia has refused to comply with this request.

This was reported by the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Andriy Yustov, during a television marathon.

“Regarding information about the deaths – yes, Ukraine has been and continues to appeal for the transfer of the bodies. So far, the Russian side has not agreed to this”, stated the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

Yustov emphasized that Ukraine’s demand for an unbiased international investigation into the circumstances of the Il-76 plane crash remains relevant.

In Ukraine, the status of these 65 soldiers, whom the Russians declared dead, has not changed—they are still considered prisoners of war. The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate also added that the extensive exchange of prisoners of war that took place on January 31 was “almost the completion” of the disrupted operation on the day of the Il-76 crash.
