Russians are actively fortifying their positions as they anticipate a counterattack from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, in a live broadcast on the “Kyiv” TV channel.
“For the second week in a row, the enemy has been building fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia region. They have started building new trenches between Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, and between Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. They are also building structures on the border of the Melitopol district towards Zaporizhzhia and Vasilivka. They are building structures between the villages of Myrne and Terpinnia. They clearly understand that they will not be able to launch any offensive actions towards Zaporizhzhia, so they will try to defend the occupied territories,” Fedorov said.
