The behavior of Russian occupiers shows signs of the beginning of the evacuation process from the captured territory. The process of departure has not yet begun, but active preparation for it is currently underway.

This was reported by the mayor of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, during a briefing of the International Summit of Cities and Regions, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

“We cannot yet say that a massive evacuation has begun from the Zaporizhzhia region, but the fact that there is a tendency to begin evacuation is true”, he said.

According to the mayor, in Enerhodar, Russian soldiers are going from house to house and distributing leaflets about the need to “submit questionnaires for children who they intend to evacuate on May 5-7”. In Tokmak and Molochansk, the occupiers recommend that people go to Melitopol or Crimea through loudspeakers.

At the same time, over the past two weeks, the occupiers have been removing equipment from the premises of some banks and offices.

“They are doing this everywhere, in the occupied Melitopol, in Enerhodar, and other cities… They are removing air conditioners from all premises en masse. Why? It is not clear”, the mayor of Melitopol summed up.

It should be reminded that yesterday, on April 20, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, announced that the counteroffensive actions of Ukraine had already begun. She explained that the defense forces would not announce the beginning of the offensive.
